Cosmetic Injectables

dermal fillers

appointment Duration: 60-90 Minutes

One of our most popular facial rejuvenation treatments; Dermal Filler is a powerful injectable treatment that involves administering a hydrating gel under the skin to restore facial volume and structure that naturally deteriorates with ageing.

What are dermal fillers?

Dermal Fillers are a hydrating gel that is injected beneath the skin to restore volume, smooth out fine lines and wrinkles, and enhance facial contours and structures. As we age, our bodies stop producing high amounts of collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid, which results in volume loss and sagging skin. This can exaggerate the appearance of creases, facial sagging, jowling, and fine lines. Dermal fillers are also a powerful non-surgical treatment, that are effective in reducing the appearance of tiredness, sadness, and other negative facial attributes. Other factors such as sun exposure damage, lifestyle choices, and genetics, can also contribute to a drooping appearance, and deterioration in facial structure, that cosmetic injectables are designed to improve.

What are dermal fillers used for?

Dermal fillers can treat a variety of concerns, such as:

  • Nasolabial creases
  • Marionette lines
  • Acne scarring
  • Cheek depressions
  • Crow’s feet lines
  • Scars from burns and facial wounds
  • Frown lines
  • Laugh lines
  • Volume loss
  • Thin lips
  • Re-volumising gaunt facial structure
  • Under eye concerns (Eye bags, hollowing, crepe & darkness)
  • Enhancement of natural features
  • Facial slimming
  • Improve skin texture & hydration

Whether these concerns are mild or severe, cosmetic injectables can vastly improve and reduce the appearance of such issues. In addition, dermal fillers can achieve the following effects:

  • Restore volume to recessed areas of the face
  • Enhance facial contours
  • Improve facial symmetry
  • Plump and boost the lips
  • Smooth out fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth, eyes, forehead, and neck
  • Rejuvenate the face with a healthy, natural glow
  • Create a youthful, lifted appearance
  • Facial Augmentation (Chin, Jaw & Cheeks)

It is essential that patients have realistic expectations of what dermal fillers can achieve before proceeding with the treatment. Dermal fillers are designed to enhance and improve the natural features of your face, bringing back a youthful, rejuvenated appearance.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long do Dermal Fillers last?

How long the results will last is influenced by the type of dermal fillers used, the areas of treatment, and how well the patient heals. HA dermal fillers can last up to 18 months, and other types of cosmetic injectables can last up to two years. It can be said that the density of the filler and how deeply it is injected can dictate how long results last, but this is not a general rule. Patients may need a course of treatments, including maintenance treatments, to ensure lasting results.

Are Dermal Fillers safe?

There is always an element of potential risks occurring with any cosmetic treatment you undergo, and therefore, it cannot be said that dermal fillers are inherently ‘safe’. Cosmetic injections containing hyaluronic acid and collagen have a reduced risk of allergic reactions, as these substances occur naturally within our bodies.

Are Dermal Fillers permanent?

Our clinicians at Aesthete Sunshine Coast use the highest quality techniques and standards to achieve the desired results. However, adjustments and corrections can be made if patients wish to remove the fillers. Cosmetic injections, in most cases, can be dissolved or adjusted, depending on the type of fillers used.

Do dermal fillers hurt?

At Aesthete Sunshine Coast, our dermal fillers are infused with a local anaesthetic that will numb the area as the injections occur. Patients describe the feeling of cosmetic injections as minimal discomfort.

How often are maintenance treatments required?

This will depend on how long results last for each patient, but maintenance treatments may be done every three to four months to ensure long-lasting results.

Can dermal fillers treat scars?

Yes, dermal fillers can be a successful treatment option for facial scarring, where lost tissue has caused depression and volume loss. Facial scars caused by skin cancer, acne, trauma, chickenpox, or burns, can be effectively treated with dermal fillers, achieving an improved appearance with reduced visibility of scarring.
